Stephen R. Drew is a founding partner of Drew, Cooper and Anding. He earned his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Michigan. For over 35 years Mr. Drew has practiced in the areas of Civil Rights, Personal Injury, Sexual Harassment, Police Misconduct, and Employment law, and has litigated complex cases in state and federal courts in Michigan and throughout the United States. Known for achieving exceptional results for clients on unpopular and challenging cases against large corporate defendants, he has gained the recognition and reputation as a fierce litigator. He is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers of the American Bar Association, where membership is selected based upon recognition of skill and professionalism. He has been named Super Lawyer in Michigan in the field of Personal Injury since 2007. He has also been awarded the Champion of Justice Award by the Michigan Bar Association and has been listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers since 1997. Because of his skill and integrity, he is often sought by other lawyers to serve as a facilitator in lawsuits.

Among his many memberships and associations, he has served as the president of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, Floyd Skinner Bar Association, and executive board member of the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association.

He has litigated and settled many high profile cases in his career. Some of the most recent include:

Theresa Waldo v. Consumers Energy 1:06 –cv-00768 (2010) - a sexual harassment/hostile work environment case in the United States District Court Western District of Michigan. This jury trial returned a verdict of $7.9 Million for the plaintiff.

Estate of William Griffin v. City of Muskegon, et. al, 1:09-cv-884 (2010) - a wrongful death action against a municipality and individual police officers. This case was settled prior to trial for the plaintiff in the amount of $775,000.00.

A graduate of Wayne State Law School, Mr. Anding is a founding partner in the law firm of Drew, Cooper and Anding.  In starting the firm in 1991, Mr. Anding brought his experience in complex commercial litigation to a unique and diverse partnership.

Mr. Anding’s commercial litigation client base ranges from consumers and individual entrepreneurs to international corporations.  He has practiced before the Federal & State Courts in Michigan, Texas, New York, Florida, Alaska and Colorado as well as before the Sixth, Eleventh and Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.  Verdicts obtained by Mr. Anding include numerous damage awards in excess of $1 million and the second largest verdict in the state of Michigan in 2003 ($27.5 million).  In addition, Mr. Anding is experienced in arbitration including international arbitration before the London Court of International Arbitration.

In addition to his memberships in the local, state and federal bar associations, including his service as President of the Federal Bar Association (Western District, 1999-2000)  Mr. Anding is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates; National Association of Consumer Advocates; Fellow, Michigan State Bar Foundation; Historical Society for the United States District Court, Western District, Michigan (Board of Trustees); Catholic Lawyers Association of West Michigan (Past President); Order of the Barristers.

As a trial lawyer specializing in fraud, finance and consumer class actions, Mr. Anding has authored several articles on the topic of lender liability and has served as a faculty member at various seminars related to his expertise on various topics within the practice of commercial litigation.

Ann M. Cooper

Ann Cooper graduated from Michigan State University, Byrn Mawr College, and the University of Michigan Law School. She was a Fulbright Scholar in France. She is a member of local, state and federal bar associations and the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan. She has practiced in Michigan courts and in the eastern and western districts of Michigan's federal courts. Ms. Cooper served on the United States 6th Circuit Judicial Merit Selection Panel in 1998. She authored "The Plaintiff's Discrimination Action in Michigan Circuit Courts," Michigan Wrongful Discharge and Employment Discrimination Law, Second Edition, Institute of Continuing Legal Education, 1994.

Ms. Cooper was a member of the Michigan Supreme Court Task Force on Gender Issues in the Courts, the State Bar's Open Justice Commission, and currently the Equal Access Initiative of the State Bar. She was a member of the Grand Rapids Community Relations Commission and a trustee of the Grand Rapids Foundation.

Ms. Cooper has received the Michigan State Bar's Champion of Justice Award, 2002, and the Civil Rights Award, 1998, from the Grand Rapids Community Relations Commission. She has been honored by the Grand Rapids Bar Association and its Young Lawyers Section. She continues to work in jury system education for Michigan students and on diversity issues in state and local bar associations.

Bridget C. Kehoe

Bridget C. Kehoe graduated cum laude from the Wayne State University College of Law in 1977. After graduation, she joined the legal staff of Ford Motor Credit Company in Dearborn, Michigan and later worked in the Office of the General Counsel for General Motors Corporation in Detroit, Michigan. She joined Drew, Cooper & Anding in 1993. While at Drew, Cooper & Anding, Ms. Kehoe has practiced in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan as well as the Kent County Circuit Court. Ms. Kehoe was on brief in the following selected opinions: Prime Financial Services LLC v. Vinton, 279 Mich App 245, 65 UCC Rep. Serv. 2d 867 (2008) and Dressel v. Ameribank, 468 Mich 557 (2003).

Ms. Kehoe is a member of the litigation section of the local, state, and federal bar associations. She is also a member of the Women's Lawyer Association of Michigan, (WLAM) and former secretary and board member of the Western Region of WLAM.

Theodore J. Westbrook joined Drew, Cooper & Anding as an associate in 2007 after graduating summa cum laude from the Michigan State University College of Law. Mr. Westbrook’s practice focuses on business and complex commercial litigation, lender liability, cyberspace and technology law and consumer protection law, including claims under the federal Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Mr. Westbrook is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan, as well as the District, Circuit and Supreme courts for the State of Michigan, the Michigan Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Adam C. Sturdivant is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and earned his law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. Mr. Sturdivant is also a member of the personal injury and civil rights litigation groups. Licensed to practice in Michigan and Ohio, he has represented clients in both state and federal courts.

J. Joseph Rossi graduated from the University of Notre Dame and the Notre Dame Law School. He served as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps, including Operation Desert Storm. Following Law School, Joe practiced with a large firm in Grand Rapids, as well as serving as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Grand Rapids for eight years. At the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Joe served as Civil Health Care Fraud Coordinator and Affirmative Civil Enforcement Coordinator, evaluating every Qui Tam, or False Claims Act, case filed in Western Michigan. In this capacity, he handled cases involving medical billing fraud, pharmaceutical fraud and fraud perpetrated by Defense and other Federal contractors. Joe obtained multi-million dollar judgments and recoveries in several matters. He joined Drew, Cooper and Anding in 2010 and formed West Michigan’s first Qui Tam Whistleblower’s practice to represent private citizens who sue to recover taxpayer money taken by fraud.

Joe is admitted to practice in Federal Court in the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, as well as the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He also has extensive litigation experience in Michigan state courts.
